StoryTelling_OnScreen

A series of three independant 10 week courses that show the way for an author/filmmaker to develop into a master storyteller of the screen.

Part 1 introduces the basic rules of format.

Part 2 shows how to flaunt the rules without losing the audience.

Part 3 takes you through the creation of your own feature length screenplay.

This three step development process compresses years of work experience into weeks. It provides a grounding in the basics of telling stories on screen, explores the creative manipulation of those basics for artistic effect, and resolves the storyteller's primary concern: Can I tell a screen story effectively?

1) Format First

This first part provides all the practical information necessary to write a script. The fundamental How-Tos of format and screen language. Writing assignments are short scenes for discussion with classmates.

2) First and Ten

3) First Draft
